The Kardashian juggernaut has released first pictures of the new Kardashian Kollection shoe line. The collection will launch in Australia in November 2013, retailing in department store David Jones and online at the Kardashian Shoes website.
So far pictures of three different shoes from the collection’s first line up have been released. The first shoe is a chunky-heeled black and white double strap sandal, pictured at top. The second is a taupe, cage-effect sandal also with a chunky heel (this sneak peak picture was posted by Kim Kardashian on her website yesterday).
The third shoe is a closed-toe, open sided single-soled pump with a practical-looking high heel. This cute shoe was pictured on Kourtney Karsdashian’s webpage, with two different coloured ankle straps – purple and nude. The ankle strap heel is definitely on trend right now so we’re sure these will sell very quickly when they’re released.
Right now the brand’s website is still in “coming soon” mode but Kardashian lovers can signup for (free) VIP access which will allow them to be the first to access the new collection once it launches.
Supermodel Rachel Hunter probably knows a thing or two about high heels having spent over 20 years in them, on and off catwalks. Recently the delightful star New Zealander instagrammed this picture of herself in the recovery position, captioning the photo “sore feet :-)”. It might be unusual, but we think Rachel would know if it works or not!
The boots are cute, but we think that a bit of instagram sleuthing has uncovered Rachel’s favourite high heels of all time. We claim that they’re these Christian Louboutin platform pumps. A few months ago Rachel snapped a picture of them at a board meeting that she said nobody else turned up to.
So how do we know that these are Rachel Hunter’s favourite high heels? We’re guessing of course, but they are the heels that she’s pictured wearing in the cover picture on her official website. Another clue is this picture of her Louboutins that the star instagrammed late last year. They definitely look like she’s worn them a lot!
Socialite Tara Palmer-Tomkinson has claimed she was arrested by airport security in Zurich Switzerland a couple of days ago for trying to get these killer heels by Chanel through airport security. On March 24 2013 T-P-T tweeted that she “was arrested at Zurich airport with my Chanel killer heels in my luggage… not a good look on the x Ray!”
It’s not the first time the gun heels have caused controversy. Five years ago Madonna rather predictably copped ire from a number of anti-violence groups for wearing the gun heels to the screening of her firm “Filth and Wisdom” in New York City.
The gun high heels – called “Miami Vice” – were designed by Chanel’s shoe designer Laurence Decade for the label’s Cruise 2009 collection. Decade apparently created the heels on the instructions of Chanel’s creative director Karl Lagerfeld who found the inspiration for them in an image of a gun he saw.
Then, as now, the satin pistol heel shoes certainly garnered their owner plenty of free publicity, and in Tara’s case she didn’t even have to wear them. If she was annoyed by her arrest she certainly didn’t show it on Twitter. In a follow up tweet the socialite even claimed she spent her time in custody playing backgammons with the cops for 7 hours.
Only 10 months ago, Kim Kardashian posted a picture of herself in “full on beast mode,” on all fours on a white couch wearing black over the knee boots and not terribly much else. Now it seems that at least one pair of her designer FMBs is for sale. The star has put this pair of Christian Louboutin over the knee boots up for auction on her eBay site.
We wonder if the sale is just part of a regular closet clean out, or has the mother-to-be decided that over the knee boots are just a little too racy for her pending maternal role? Well, at least we doubt she’ll be giving birth in them. And a little speculation is always fun.
The black suede boots have certainly seen some action if the scuff marks on their red soles are any indication. The eBay posting notes this and also states that the boots are “pre-owned [and] in very good condition.” They are in Kim Kardashian’s shoe size, which is a 37 in Louboutins (in case you were wondering) and have a 5 inch heel with a 1 inch platform.
As with all Kim’s auctions, a percentage of the takings will be given to charity (the proportion is not specified). So if you manage to snag these boots, the Life Change Community Church will get some of your hard earned dollars. Bidders had better hurry: the auction is only open for another 2 and a half days and the price is already nearing US$1,000. Awaken your inner “beast mode” today.
It’s becoming increasingly difficult to keep Kanye West out of what passes for news these days. The latest rumour doing the rounds is that he’s been pestering Anna Wintour to put his pregnant girlfriend Kim Kardashian on the cover of Vogue. That may prove difficult as the rumour mill also tells us that Anna doesn’t like Kim at all. The word “hate” has even been mentioned. Shock, horror, headlines etc.
Anyhow, back to Kanye. The musician / designer has collaborated again with Giuseppe Zanotti to produce a pair of heels (the last time produced a somewhat mixed, and very expensive result). This time around, the white leather sandals West and Zanotti have designed feature sculpted ceramic flame panels on their front, which we’ve also seen described as ceramic “leaf detailing.” Either way, the heels are intended to echo the graphics that appear on the cover of West’s “Cruel Summer” album (available from Amazon, $11.99).
Which, it’s fair to say, they probably do. These shoes have a 13.5cm (5.3 inch) leather covered, inwardly curved stiletto heel with a small 1cm (0.4 inch) platform. Designed towards the end of last year, they are made of 100% calfskin leather and currently available in limited sizes to be Farfetched from Paris for US$1,364.
Even if you’re a supermodel who has worn exquisite designer shoes for years, it seems it is still difficult not to fall in love when presented with a very pretty pair. Today the adorable Heidi Klum showed just that by tweeting about how much she loves her new Giuseppe Zanotti stilettos.
In case you weren’t convinced, the supermodel turned businesswoman and television star has also posted a picture of herself giving the shoes in question a little peck on their gold-plated heels!
There is certainly nothing wrong with Heidi’s shoe-love radar because the stilettos she’s pictured kissing are indeed gorgeous. The high heeled sandals are from Zanotti’s spring / summer 2013 collection and their color scheme is meant to embrace the colors of the Savanna. The leopard-print straps are made of pony skin and the buckling ankle straps of gloss red suede. They have a heel height of 16cm (about 6.3 inches) but with a platform of 4.5cm (around 1.8 inches).
Meanwhile, just to prove she’s not all princess, Heidi’s third collection of activewear in collaboration with New Balance has just launched. When introducing the collection Heidi said she had “created pieces in my collection that are functional and flattering with a fashionable twist.” The range of high performance workout wear includes tees, skinny tights and capri pants, as well as a racer back tank, shorts and hoody.
Heidi Klum’s third collection for New Balance is the first that will be sold in bricks and mortar stores. It’s will be available in select Lady Foot Locker stores throughout the United States.
Kim Kardashian has offered the public another view inside her vast shoe closet – and it seems that the neon high heel trend is well catered for. The superstar has today posted images from her high heel collection that include this one of some very pretty pink and lemonade colored high heels.
Meanwhile, the Kardashian show rolls on. Last week Kim posted a picture of her denim-clad backside and wrote, “I think my butt looks too big in these jeans.” At least she doesn’t have to worry about her shoes fitting.

Newly-single Katie Holmes has celebrated her break-up with Tom Cruise by splashing out on 15 pairs of brand new Christian Louboutin high heels, according to a report in the National Enquirer this week. A source has disclosed that the glamorous actress “went on a tear” at Barneys, purchasing a closet full of suits and dressses at the iconic New York department store – along with lingerie and 15 pairs of Louboutins.
There are sadly no details available of the designer shoes Katie purchased, or how many Louboutins she already owns, but she would be by no means the only celebrity to have a closet full of red-soled high heels. Earlier this year Kim Kardashian confessed that her shoe closet houses 224 pairs of Louboutins alone! And Blake Lively, who recently said it was “embarrassing” how many pairs of Louboutins she owns, reportedly bought 40 pairs of the legendary designer’s shoes at a sample sale in New York last year.
Katie Holmes was often been seen in flat shoes during her five year marriage to Tom Cruise, not wanting to tower over her then-husband in sky-high stilettos. However, with her divorce settlement now finalised, it seems that high heels are firmly back on the 33 year old’s agenda. The Enquirer’s source was even quoted as saying that Katie had fallen “head over heels” for high heels – which might be easy to do if you can afford to splurge out on 15 pairs of Louboutins.
While we don’t know the details of Katie’s purchases, we hope they included a pair of Christian Louboutin’s Daffodile crystal-embellished suede pumps (pictured). The 6.5 inch heels are bound to stop traffic and attract photographers, and they come with a celebrity price tag too: £3,900.60 (over $5,000) from net-a-porter.
This is Kim Kardashian’s way to wear over the knee boots – lots of black leather, a white couch and not much else! Kim posted the picture of herself in “full on beast mode” to thank the “2 million sexy beasts out there for following me on Instagram!”
(Update, March 2018: this post was written in the days when Kim had her own Celebuzz page – it’s no longer active – and only 2 million Insta followers. The number today is over 108 million!)
Earlier this year, Jimmy Choo founder Tamara Melon said that “if you buy anything this fall it has to be an over the knee leather boot.” Tamara was asked how she would wear the Jimmy Choo April leather thigh boots (previously available from net-a-porter for £876.15).
She went for a decidedly more modest approach than Kim Karsashian:
I would wear this over tight black skinny jeans or even dark denim blue jeans or a leather legging. With a white t shirt and a slouchy black blazer, that’s the look you want to go for.

It’s not easy to work out what the most expensive pair of high heels in the world is. For one thing, there are new shoes being designed every second and high heels seem to be getting more and more expensive.
Earlier this year, Women’s Wear Daily launched an investigation into the seemingly skyrocketing prices of designer shoes, speaking to representatives of designers and retailers. Daniella Vitale, Barneys’ chief merchant and EVP confirmed that in recent times “the prices have shot up dramatically.”
Meanwhile Alexis Mourot, CEO at Christian Louboutin, told WWD that the price of designers shoes was “a very sensitive issue, and we’re taking it very seriously…” However he then went on to blame currency differences for the large price tags: “When you price 500 euros in dollars, it’s $750 to $780, you say ‘Oh my God! $780 looks pretty high, but 500 euros isn’t that crazy.”
Manolo Blahnik CEO George Malkemus said that his theory was that “when [designer-branded] ready-to-wear priced itself out of the realm of most consumers, shoes and bags were still affordable. Now, what’s happened is the shoe people and the bag people sort of lost control of that, and they are scaring off a certain consumer.”
Our answer is that the most expensive high heels currently available are these special edition Kanye West by Giuseppe Zanotti beaded sandals. The heels were designed by West in conjunction with Zanotti and debuted at Paris Fashion Week last year. The price tag? A mere US$5,810 from Luisaviaroma.com.
