Are things finally looking up for Kim Kardashian’s ShoeDazzle?

ShoeDazzle has been doing it a little tough recently. A little like its  Chief Fashion Stylist, Kim Kardashian, the brand has had to weather some adverse publicity, some perhaps due to problems of its own making.

In September 2011, the company got itself a new CEO in Bill Strauss who joined ShoeDazzle after 13 years at online florist ProFlowers. But the path for Strauss over the next year was anything but covered in flowers.

In January 2012 ShoeDazzle shut down its UK side of the business, which was not performing strongly. ShoeDazzle UK had only been in operation for 4 months – the same amount of time that Strauss had been CEO.

Then, back in March 2012, the brand dropped its ill-considered subscription model, which required users to pay a monthly fee to access the ShoeDazzle collection. The model was never going to be attractive to customers in such a crowded market place, with a low-budget range. It is true that subscribers who paid their $39.95 per month did get a pair of shoes for that, but very few women want to buy 12 pairs a year from one brand — even at that low price!

Fans also expressed some skepticism about the commitment of ShoeDazzle’s celebrity endorser, co-founder and spokeswoman Kim Kardashian to the brand, with subscribers taking to Google with queries such as “does Kim Kardashian wear ShoeDazzle?” The answer, however, is that she does – at least sometimes.

Finally, last month Strauss left ShoeDazzle and has been replaced as CEO by founder Brian Lee. Lee has stated in an interview that Strauss “voluntarily resigned” and no further details are possible.

bootiesHowever, there is some good news. The first is that ShoeDazzle is still making some sexy high heels at even sexier prices. These new low-cut booties have a 4.25 inch metallic stiletto heel with a 1.25 inch platform. Called Macyn, they’re faux-suede with faux-patent leather accents and a side zipper. Macyn is new to ShoeDazzle for $44.95.

The second bit of good news is that the company has raised a further $6 million in funding, according to a filing it has lodged with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The company has now raised over $60 million dollars since it was founded, so let’s hope it can continue to provide dazzling shoes to its 13 million members.

Kim Kardashian has the neon high heel trend covered

Kim Kardashian's shoe closetKim Kardashian has offered the public another view inside her vast shoe closet – and it seems that the neon high heel trend is well catered for. The superstar has today posted images from her high heel collection that include this one of some very pretty pink and lemonade colored high heels.

The pink shoes are Kim’s pink Casadei high heels, which we reported on as being a new celebrity favorite a few months back. The florescent yellow (or “lemonade”) stilettos alongside them are Christian Louboutin’s iconic Pigalle heels.

Meanwhile, the Kardashian show rolls on. Last week Kim posted a picture of her denim-clad backside and wrote, “I think my butt looks too big in these jeans.” At least she doesn’t have to worry about her shoes fitting.

How to wear over the knee boots – according to Kim Kardashian and Tamara Melon

Kim Kardashian thanks her Instagram followersThis is Kim Kardashian’s way to wear over the knee boots – lots of black leather, a white couch and not much else! Kim posted the picture of herself in “full on beast mode” to thank the “2 million sexy beasts out there for following me on Instagram!”

(Update, March 2018: this post was written in the days when Kim had her own Celebuzz page – it’s no longer active – and only 2 million Insta followers. The number today is over 108 million!)

Earlier this year, Jimmy Choo founder Tamara Melon said that “if you buy anything this fall it has to be an over the knee leather boot.” Tamara was asked how she would wear the Jimmy Choo April leather thigh boots (previously available from net-a-porter for £876.15).

She went for a decidedly more modest approach than Kim Karsashian:

I would wear this over tight black skinny jeans or even dark denim blue jeans or a leather legging. With a white t shirt and a slouchy black blazer, that’s the look you want to go for.

Kim Kardashian wears Louboutins to Nobu

These are the crazy Christian Louboutin high heels that Kim Kardashian was spotted wearing on Saturday night to dinner at Nobu Restaurant in Los Angeles. The shoes are collectors items from the Louboutin 20th anniversary capsule collection which is compiled of some of the designer’s favorite pieces.

Isolde made its debut on the runway for New York Fashion Week and it has an appropriately high 6.3 inch heel with a 2.4 inch platform.

The high heels can be yours from the Louboutin website in nude if you are a size 40 (all other sizes are sold out). More sizes are available in black via net-a-porter.

Kim Kardashian’s pink Casadei high heels – are these the new celebrity favorites?

Uber-celebrity Kim Kardashian has been showing off her amazing pink Casadei high heels on Twitter, describing them as the “perfect hot pink heel.” Don’t quote us on this, but Kim might be right!

These super-hot pink high heels have already had a couple of outings with Ms Kardashian, including being paired with a silver Catherine Malandrino dress as shown below. The heels certainly have all the features necessary to be the next celebrity favorite too: they’re sky-high, incredibly hot, very expensive and almost impossible to buy right now.

One thing is for sure: Kim is a big fan of these sexy pink shoes. The celeb has already declared she’s “in love” with them on Twitter, and we think can see why.

So are these Casadei high heels going to become the new celebrity favorites? Watch this space because we think you’ll be seeing a lot more of them soon.
