Even better than the news that Gianmarco Lorenzi’s new website no longer opens with some really weird stuff, is the fact that the label has its fall / winter 2014 /15 collection available for purchase online.
There are plenty of highlights in the FW 14/15 collection, but the absolute stand-out are the ankle boots. Here are three of our favourites (update: links have been deleted as these heels are no longer available).
First, seen above is a delicate looking leather ankle boot with golden metal buckle which is a study in simplicity and elegance. The smooth rounded toe of this boot contrasts beautifully with the with the clear, square lines of the buckle feature.
This zip up bootie has a 115mm heel (4.5 inch) and costs €572 (about US$715) from Gianmarco Lorenzi.
Sporting the sort of killer heel that made Gianmarco Lorenzi famous, this black bootie is simplicity itself. A 20mm (0.8 inch) internal platform helps offset the 130mm (5.1 inch) semi-gloss stiletto heel, and the upturned toe reveals a nickel-coloured cap. Pick up this boot for €728 (approximately US$900) from Gianmarco Lorenzi.
Our third and final choice mixes textured suede and sheepskin for that warm winter look. It’s sturdier too, sporting a 115mm (4.5 inch) solid block heel with a feature “kink” at the top rather than a stiletto. Get them while they’re hot for €618 (US$770) at Gianmarco Lorenzi’s website.
